New Licensed Mug Collection - Vicky Yorke Designs x Captivate Brands

Image
I'm delighted to finally be able to share with you that I have collaborated with  Captivate Brands Ltd.  on a new collection of beautiful licensed mugs.  ' Midwinter' is a selection of designs inspired by the forest with patterns including forest flora, oak leaves, trees and forest animals including foxes, hares and birds. It's a cosy collection that is perfect for transitional interiors between Autumn and Winter with the colour palette making it perfect for Christmas and the festive season too.  I worked closely with Captivate over a number of months to help them select some of my favourite and most on trend designs, and we have teamed these with fashionable shapes to create a fresh and stylish selection of 40 mug designs co-branded under their  Siip Fundamental  collection.  'Contoured' is a collection of continuous line drawings and here fashionable and stylish face illustrations are adorned with flower crowns in honour of female strength and unity. Mugs For Every Romantic Occasion!

Image
My first line of mugs in my Etsy store feature a selection of romantic designs, that are bright and fun! Many such as the Mr & Mrs mugs above and the He / She Put A Ring On It mugs below can be personalised and make unique gifts for occasions such as Valentine's Day, or engagement, wedding and anniversary gifts for a special couple! You can make your loved one smile on any occasion with one of my cheeky typography designs. ... Or just tell them how much they mean to you...

Mugs (Part 4)

My final round up of designs from my mugs project is yet more lovely florals! I particularly enjoy designing ditsy flower prints, so the following designs were loads of fun to do! Bolder floral prints took the form of this mid century inspired stem design... ...and a pretty crochet edge floral in trendy blue and white. With so many different styles there's a mug design for virtually everyone - which one would you choose?! Copyright Kitchen Craft 2014.

Mugs (Part 3)

Among my favourite of the mug designs were the florals, as I love creating this type of print. Kitchen Craft bought the above design from me after seeing it in my licensing portfolio and I then helped them rework it into the following two mug designs - the first is very similar to the original print... ...and the second is in a new bright pink and purple colourway, which I think is very striking. I love the colour and shape of this mug and must confess it has become one of my favourite mugs for drinking my morning coffee! In contrast to the bright colour way of the pink mug is a much more neutral wheat leaf print, which I designed to fit easily into any kitchen. It's a simple, but pretty design to hopefully appeal to many tastes.  A simple stripe makes the third design in the blue and beige mug colour group. Images copyright Kitchen Craft 2014.

Mugs (Part 2)

After a brief interlude to show you what was happening at the exhibitions last month, I am today returning to my mugs project. Lots of different styles were required for this brief from simple spots, stripes and stars shown below, to the more detailed painted designs I showed you previously.  I was asked to create a highly intricate butterfly illustration using fine liner pen, which was coloured in a variety of different tone on tone pastel colours, with the pale purple and pale pink options below finally being chosen. Mugs (Part 1)

Happy New Year everyone! I thought I would begin the new year by revisiting a project from this time last year! Regular followers of my blog may remember me talking about getting my paint brushes out for a really fun brief. As always with product development it's taken a while, but I can now share with you that these designs were to be part of a new range of mugs. The first mug captures the ever popular subject of British birds ( - one of my favourite subjects to draw and paint!) ... and the second mug, which I call 'Haberdashery' captures the current British trend for all things craft. I originally painted the design in a vintage colour pallet of red, blue and beige, but Kitchen Craft asked me to digitally recolour it to be more of a pinky / purple colour pallet and this was used on the final design above.  Images copyright Kitchen Craft 2014.
